  • Food coloring (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°F (93°C).
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. In a clean bowl, beat egg whites and cream of tartar until soft peaks form.
  4. Gradually add sugar, beating until stiff peaks form.
  5. Mix in vanilla and almond extracts.
  6. Add food coloring if desired and gently fold to combine.
  7. Spoon or pipe meringue onto the prepared baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 1.5 hours until dry and crisp.
  9. Turn off the oven and let meringues cool inside.
