Description

Ube Halaya is a sweet and creamy jam made from purple yam.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups ube (purple yam), grated
  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • 1 cup condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter

Instructions

  1. Boil the ube in water until tender. Drain and let cool.
  2. Peel and grate the boiled ube.
  3. In a pan, melt the butter over medium heat.
  4. Add the grated ube, coconut milk, condensed milk, and sugar. Stir well.
  5. Cook for about 30 minutes, stirring constantly until thick.
  6. Remove from heat and let it cool.
  7. Transfer to a jar and refrigerate.
