Description

Spinach Fatayer are savory triangular pies filled with spinach and spices.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh spinach, chopped
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon sumac
  • 1/2 cup feta cheese, crumbled
  • 1 package of pastry dough

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat.
  2. Add onion and sauté until translucent.
  3. Add chopped spinach and cook until wilted.
  4. Stir in salt, pepper, and sumac.
  5. Add feta cheese and mix well.
  6. Roll out pastry dough and cut into circles.
  7. Place a spoonful of filling in the center of each circle.
  8. Fold the dough over to form a triangle and seal the edges.
  9. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  10. Place fatayer on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
