Description
Spinach Fatayer are savory triangular pies filled with spinach and spices.
Ingredients

- 2 cups fresh spinach, chopped
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon sumac
- 1/2 cup feta cheese, crumbled
- 1 package of pastry dough
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat.
- Add onion and sauté until translucent.
- Add chopped spinach and cook until wilted.
- Stir in salt, pepper, and sumac.
- Add feta cheese and mix well.
- Roll out pastry dough and cut into circles.
- Place a spoonful of filling in the center of each circle.
- Fold the dough over to form a triangle and seal the edges.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Place fatayer on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
Notes
- Serve warm or at room temperature.
- Can be frozen before baking.
- Adjust spices to taste.
