Description

Palestinian Musakhan is a traditional dish featuring sumac chicken served on taboon bread.


Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons sumac
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 pieces of taboon bread
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix olive oil, sumac, salt, and pepper.
  3. Coat the chicken thighs with the mixture.
  4. Place the chicken on a baking tray and add sliced onions around it.
  5. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the chicken is cooked.
  6. Remove from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes.
  7. Warm the taboon bread in the oven for a few minutes.
  8. Serve the chicken on the bread and garnish with fresh parsley.
