  • 1 onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 8 oz lasagna noodles, broken into pieces
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Fresh basil for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, brown the ground beef with onions and garlic over medium heat.
  2. Add crushed tomatoes, beef broth, and Italian seasoning. Stir to combine.
  3. Bring the mixture to a boil, then add the broken lasagna noodles.
  4. Reduce heat and simmer for about 20 minutes, or until noodles are tender.
  5. Stir in ricotta and half of the mozzarella cheese until melted.
  6. Season with salt and pepper.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with remaining mozzarella and fresh basil.
