A flavorful and aromatic rice dish made with mushrooms and spices.
Ingredients

- 2 cups basmati rice
- 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
- 1 large onion, thinly sliced
- 2 tomatoes, chopped
- 1/4 cup yogurt
- 2 tablespoons biryani masala
- 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 4 cups water
- Salt to taste
- Fresh cilantro and mint leaves for garnish
Instructions
- Wash and soak the basmati rice for 30 minutes.
- Heat oil in a pot and sauté the onions until golden brown.
- Add ginger-garlic paste and sliced mushrooms. Cook until mushrooms soften.
- Mix in tomatoes and cook until they soften.
- Add biryani masala and yogurt, stir well.
- Add soaked rice and water. Season with salt.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 20 minutes.
- Remove from heat and let it sit for 10 minutes.
- Fluff the rice and garnish with cilantro and mint.
Notes
- Use fresh mushrooms for best flavor.
- Adjust spices according to your preference.
- Serve with raita or salad.
