Description
Modak is a traditional Indian sweet dumpling made from rice flour and filled with coconut and jaggery.
Ingredients

- 2 cups rice flour
- 1 cup grated coconut
- 1 cup jaggery, grated
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder
- 1 tablespoon ghee
Instructions
- In a pan, heat ghee and add grated coconut and jaggery. Cook until jaggery melts and mixture thickens.
- Add cardamom powder and mix well. Remove from heat and let it cool.
- Boil water in a separate pot and add rice flour. Mix well until it forms a dough.
- Take small portions of the dough and shape them into small cups.
- Fill each cup with the coconut-jaggery mixture.
- Seal the edges and shape into a dumpling.
- Steam the dumplings for 15-20 minutes.
- Serve warm.
Notes
- Use fresh coconut for better flavor.
- Ensure the dough is not too dry or too wet.
- Adjust sweetness as per your taste.
