Lamb Shank Nihari is a rich and spicy stew made with slow-cooked lamb shanks.
Ingredients

- 2 lamb shanks
- 4 tablespoons ghee
- 2 onions, sliced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
- 2 teaspoons Nihari spice mix
- 1 teaspoon turmeric
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- 4 cups water
- Salt to taste
- Fresh cilantro for garnish
Instructions
- Heat ghee in a pot over medium heat.
- Add sliced onions and cook until golden brown.
- Add garlic and ginger, sauté for a minute.
- Add lamb shanks and brown on all sides.
- Stir in Nihari spice mix, turmeric, and red chili powder.
- Add water and salt, bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 2-3 hours.
- Once the meat is tender, adjust seasoning.
- Serve hot, garnished with cilantro.
