Description
Kofte are traditional Turkish meatballs made with ground meat and spices, served with rice.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup parsley, chopped
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup rice
- 2 cups water or broth
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, parsley, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Shape the mixture into small balls.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook the meatballs until browned on all sides.
- In a separate pot, bring water or broth to a boil.
- Add rice, cover, and reduce heat to low. Cook until rice is tender, about 15 minutes.
- Serve meatballs over rice.
Notes
- Adjust spices to your taste.
- Serve with yogurt or salad for added flavor.
- Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to three days.
