Description

Inarizushi is a type of sushi made with seasoned rice stuffed in sweet, fried tofu pockets.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups sushi rice
  • 2 1/2 cups water
  • 1/4 cup rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 10 pieces inari (fried tofu pockets)
  • Sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Rinse the sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. Combine rice and water in a rice cooker and cook according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  3. In a small saucepan, heat rice vinegar, sugar, and salt until dissolved.
  4. Once rice is cooked, transfer it to a bowl and mix in the vinegar mixture.
  5. Allow the rice to cool to room temperature.
  6. Carefully open the inari pockets and fill each with seasoned rice.
  7. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top for garnish.

Notes

  • Adjust the sweetness of the rice by altering the sugar amount.
  • Inarizushi can be served chilled or at room temperature.
