Description

Halal Mutton Karahi is a traditional Pakistani dish made with tender mutton cooked in a rich and spicy tomato-based sauce.


Ingredients

  • 1 kg mutton, cut into pieces
  • 4 tablespoons oil
  • 2 large onions, chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, chopped
  • 2 green chilies, slit
  • 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tablespoon red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 tablespoon garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a karahi or deep pan over medium heat.
  2. Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
  3. Stir in ginger-garlic paste and cook for a minute.
  4. Add mutton pieces and cook until browned.
  5. Add tomatoes, green chilies, and spices. Mix well.
  6. Add water to cover the mutton and bring to a boil.
  7. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer until mutton is tender.
  8. Once cooked, sprinkle garam masala and cook for another 5 minutes.
  9. Garnish with fresh coriander before serving.
