Description

Ingredients

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 500g / 1 lb)
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 3 1/2 tablespoons unsalted butter (or 2 1/2 tablespoons olive oil)
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar (or white vinegar)
  • 1 tablespoon light soy sauce
  • 1/3 cup honey (or maple syrup)
  • Optional: Red pepper flakes, parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Slice each chicken breast in half horizontally to create four thin steaks. Season with salt and pepper.
  2. Coat each piece lightly with flour, shaking off the excess.
  3. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, melt most of the butter. Add the chicken and sear for 2–3 minutes per side until golden.
  4. Push chicken to the side. Add the remaining butter and minced garlic. Stir quickly until fragrant.
  5. Pour in the apple cider vinegar, soy sauce, and honey. Stir to combine and bring to a simmer.
  6. Reduce the heat slightly and simmer for about 1 minute until the sauce thickens.
  7. Flip the chicken a few times to fully coat it with the sticky honey garlic sauce.
  8. Remove from the pan and drizzle extra sauce over the chicken before serving.

  • Add red pepper flakes or hot sauce for a spicy kick.
  • Substitute soy sauce with tamari or coconut aminos for gluten-free option.
