French Toast Roll-Ups are a fun, sweet twist on traditional French toast. They’re easy to make, filled with tasty ingredients like cinnamon sugar, cream cheese, or fruit, and perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a quick snack. These roll-ups are kid-friendly, freezer-friendly, and super customizable for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 slices soft white bread, crusts removed
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar (for topping)
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon (for topping)
  • 3 tablespoons butter (for cooking)
  • Maple syrup, for serving

Instructions

  1. Flatten each bread slice using a rolling pin until about 1/8-inch thick.
  2. In a bowl, mix melted butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and cinnamon until smooth.
  3. Spread a thin layer of the mixture onto each bread slice.
  4. Roll each slice tightly and set aside.
  5. In a shallow bowl, whisk together eggs and milk to make the custard.
  6. Mix the topping sugar and cinnamon in a separate bowl.
  7. Dip each roll in the egg mixture, coating completely but quickly.
  8. Heat butter in a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
  9. Cook roll-ups until golden brown on all sides, about 1–2 minutes per side.
  10. Immediately roll cooked roll-ups in the cinnamon sugar topping.
  11. Serve warm with maple syrup.
